This really brings out the idea that dragons are like half lizards and half birds/bats/etc. Hehe. I love to see peoples' Original takes on them! :D Very cool. I just wish it were a bit bigger so I can see all the detail!

Fab work. What settings do you use on Painter? I mean like acrylics, oils, etc.? I'm just learning this program so I'm trying to see what mediums produce what effects.

Thanks! Mostly, I use Don Seegmiller's marker, the Round Camelhair in oils, and the occasional bit of the blender.

It's weird... different brushes seem to work for different people - I know a few people who love to block in with the Chalk tool, but I've never been able to get it to work.

Well, they're mostly just blobs... heh, I was avoiding details that day. I use BaronTieri's texture brushes for roughing foliage in, if that helps.

Heh. His little tongue poking out just makes this picture for me. It's a little element that I wasn't expecting yets now it seems so obvious that it should be there.

Really fantastic, did you paint this from scratch? Awesome work either way!

Um, there was an underlying pencil sketch, if that's what you mean... I sketch out everything in pencil first; for some reason, it just seems to work better that way.

That way actually works for me too. I can't work on too large a scale when I'm laying out the image. That's one of the reasons why I gravitate towards digital art I suppose.

Interesting concept, and excellent picture!

My girlfriend can't enjoy it, because she gets sunburned very easily. :hmm:

Awww. I love the sun. I start to get burned after maaaaybe a couple hours if I have no sunscreen on... but that all-over warmth, especially on the beach, is just fantastic.

I do too. I just have to make sure my girlfriend puts on her SPF-9000 block before we go out.
