Website change

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 28, 2008, 1:39 PM
So apparently my site didn't send renewal notifications to the correct email (or bother to call or snail-mail) so my domain's been bought out by some domain squatters in Taiwan. This means I'll be switching over to artofnicolecardiff.com. I may possibly be able to get my normal domain back in 2009, but I'm not really holding my breath. In the interim, email's going to go through my thegryph @ gmail . com account. Hopefully everything will be straightened out shortly, and I can go back to business as usual.

Well, good luck. I hope they see common sense and hire you. They'd be lucky to have you. :)

I emailed them with a link to my portfolio several weeks ago, so... if they read it, they saw it. I hadn't done it the last time I met with them personally, though.

Heh. It's at least looking promising that I'll get some of their online work soon, so maybe in the next few years they'll let me on cards, who knows.

Give me the name of the guy who won't hire you, so I can smack him upside the head. You're the best artist I've ever seen, and that work is just... so... I'd LOVE to get a card with that artwork.

In fact, I made one using your Merfolk guy...

Thanks! I played Magic way back in the day in 7th grade, and it was a lot of fun - I tried picking it back up recently, though, and man, the rules got so much more complicated! I do periodically harass Wizards to try and get work from them, but so far nothing concrete has come of it.

You're krififng amazing.

Do you play Magic: The Gathering? A lot of these look like they'd fit perfectly on an M:tG card... in fact, most are better than what the professional artists that Hasbro hires can do!

Have yourself a cookie for being awesome.

Heh, yeah - Epilogue changed their code or something a while back so that I could never log in right, which made me quit updating over there, but I still have nice memories of the place.

Well I can certainly understand the need for money, we could also get exposure for free, which every artist needs. I was only thinking in respect to that. There is always room for interviews also.

Well, last I heard KA was a non-paying market... so unless that's changed, well, see the FAQ above. While I'd certainly like to work for WotC in a paid capacity, I'm not taking uncompensated work.

Thanks! So far LA seems to have fantastic food and insanely crazy drivers.

Hey would like to do some artwork for Knowledge Arcana? I am Assistant Art Director there and you stuff would certainly make an impact on our readers. By the way congrats on the move.

Many blessings
